Take a trip from the Shore to MacArthur Center in Norfolk this weekend and on Monday for The Limited’s grand opening; it might just win you a $500 gift card. One lucky winner will also win a $50 gift card to the store and a Limited necklace. Just send us a message on this Website, or go and like us on Facebook, www.facebook.com/itsashorething, and let us know what you like about It’s a Shore Thing, in 50 words or less and we will pick a winner on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.

As for the $500 gift cards, the store has one more to award tomorrow morning to one more lucky winner, according to Mindy Gaitskill, The Limited’s District Manager.

The store also will give customers a free, limited scarf with any purchase, while supplies last.

The Limited also is offering 40 percent of merchandise all weekend at the MacArthur store, but at other Limited stores in Hampton Roads, including Greenbrier and Lynnhaven malls and Peninsula Center.

The second-floor corner store near the Body Shop and the main elevators at MacArthur in downtown Norfolk provides a prime location for the new store, which has actually been open for three weeks.

The store is starting to carry more merchandise for the cold weather such as winter capes and other heavier jackets. Sparkling clothes are also in – as you can see in the store window before entering. Customers will also see a lot of layering to show how different outfits can be put together. Neutral colors mixed with a tad of neon are also in, Gaitskill said.

“We like to say we have something for everyone,” Gaitskill said.

The store carries sizes 0 to 16. Online, TheLimited.com, also has other sizes, including a new line of plus-sizes called Eloqui.

Accessorizing is also important at The Limited. Accessories are periodically placed throughout the store, and also in abundance at an “Accessory “Destination” near the dressing rooms.

Gaitskill said The Limited has hired 32 associates, but is still hiring part-time holiday workers.
