BODYPUMP workouts hit Virginia Beach Rec Centers in February

BODYPUMP

We’re excited to announce that BODYPUMP™ will launch at five of our recreation centers in February! This world-renowned, 60-minute class uses barbells, plates and height-adjustable steps for a moderate to high-intensity workout focusing on low weight loads and high reps. In fact, the average class contains around 800 repetitions in a single workout! This combination of high reps with lower weights provides a means of resistance training that anyone at any age and fitness level can enjoy.

BODYPUMP™ workouts are set to the latest hard-hitting and inspiring tunes to keep you motivated – all while burning up to 560 calories! In addition to cardio conditioning, two different types of muscle fatigue are reached in this class – isolated and accumulation fatigue. Some fibers work better with slower tempos and other fibers work better with faster tempos. By changing the pace, you’re not just keeping the workout interesting, you’re activating all the fiber types in your muscles. Take a look at this video to see what BODYPUMP™ looks like in action!

We’re offering several free classes in February to celebrate the launch of BODYPUMP™. Check out the group fitness schedules for class days and times. Free classes require a membership or day pass, but not a group fitness pass. Be sure to get there early as equipment is limited.
